For the first time this season a mother grizzly tried to cross the swollen Gibbon river with her three little cubs. She waded to the opposite shore and waited for two of the cubs to cross. They swam as hard as they could but also complained loudly. The third cub only swam a few feet and turned around to swim back to the river bank. It climbed up the bank and started crying for its mother. It was so loud it actually hurt my ears. After trying to coax the reluctant cub to cross she made her way back to the crying cub, which meant the other two cubs had to swim across the river again. When all three were back safe on solid ground, the mother stopped and gave them a lecture. I wonder what she was saying?
